Anything transported into or from the United States must be truthfully reported to the Customs and Border Patrol. By falsifying shipping documents to conceal what is being imported or exported, you are engaging in trafficking. Smuggling people or property across borders is also trafficking.
Goods that are highly regulated or banned from import include firearms, weapons, illegal drugs, medications, endangered animals, and large sums of cash. Human trafficking can include the smuggling of illegal aliens to the United States. Human trafficking may also have an element of sexual abuse that would increase penalties to a sex trafficking violation.
